Adrien Rovero: Between Innovation, Art, and Sustainable Design

Adrien Rovero, born in 1981 in Switzerland, is a renowned industrial designer, innovative creator, and scenographer. Graduated in industrial design from ECAL/University of Art and Design Lausanne, he founded his own design studio in Renens in 2006. Thanks to his unique vision and boundless creativity, Adrien quickly made a name for himself in the luxury industry. He works with prestigious brands such as Hermès, Swatch, Pfister, and Sèvres, creating design objects, window scenographies, and space layouts.
His creations are exhibited in renowned international galleries, such as Galerie Kreo in Paris and Spazio Nobile in Belgium. Adrien is also the author of numerous exhibition scenographies for iconic museums like the Centre Pompidou in Paris, MUDAM in Luxembourg, and MUCEM in Marseille.
Innovation and Tradition: The Balance at the Heart of Creations
Adrien Rovero’s work stands out for its innovative approach to materials and meticulous attention to detail. For him, each material has its own story and visual language. Whether it’s glass, aluminum, or bronze, every choice is carefully considered to convey an emotion, an idea, or a specific atmosphere. Aluminum, for example, is a material he particularly favors for its lightness and the striking visual effects achievable through techniques such as anodization, which produces incredible colors.

Creation, Emotion, and Aesthetics: A Timeless Alliance
The designer is also deeply interested in how design can convey emotions and sensations. In his creations, such as the Aspartame collection, he explores the visual and tactile pleasure of materials, experimenting with unique textures and surfaces. For instance, he achieved an impression of flexibility and softness in a glass vase, a material typically known for its rigidity. This effect was accomplished by layering three sheets of colored glass, combined with a special treatment on the outer surface.

Exhibition Design: Crafting a Creative Dialogue with the Curator
Exhibition Design, according to Adrien Rovero, is not just about space—it’s about storytelling. The exhibition designerand the curator must work hand in hand to create a cohesive and immersive experience for visitors. By reimagining the exhibition space, the designer helps interpret the artist’s message and make it accessible to the public. This approach transforms each exhibition into a true collective work of art.

Balancing Design, Material, and Function
Adrien Rovero firmly believes that every material should be carefully chosen to serve a specific purpose. He constantly seeks the perfect balance between form, function, and aesthetics. Using innovative materials in projects such as interior design or exhibition scenography allows him to explore new textures, experiment with novel applications, and bring a distinctive touch to each endeavor.
